Families of the victims of the IDF helicopter crash of 1977 in which 54 soldiers were killed in a drill taking place in the Jordan Valley claim that no high-ranking official has agreed to take part in the annual memorial that is planned for Friday, reports Voice of Israel radio.

The crash is known as the "54 Tragedy".

According to the families, security and political figures have never attended their memorial. Last year, they said, was the first time the Chief of Staff attended.
