A 21-year-old from the Shomron community of Yitzhar was arrested on Friday afternoon at the Tapuach Junction, the Honenu legal aid organization said. Witnesses to the arrest said the man was arrested in a violent manner which included beatings and use of tear gas and a stun gun. The arrest was made after police officers claimed that he had kicked an Arab vehicle that was blocking traffic.
Honenu noted that the detainee was a close friend of Evyatar Borovosky, who was murdered at the same location this week, and had even witnessed the murder.
