The official value of the shekel rose an average of .348 percent, Friday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.569, down .14 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro declined .712 percent to 4.6736 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.5464, down .415 percent, and 100 Japanese yen fell 1.031 percent to 3.6374 shekels. The Canadian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.526, down .64 percent, while its Australian counterpart slipped .068 percent to 3.6573 shekels. The South African rand rose .631 percent to NIS .3984 and the Norwegian Krone was set at .6151 shekels, down .934 percent.
