Yishai Associates: He has No Intention of Quitting

Sources close to Member of Knesset Eli Yishai told Ma'ariv/nrg, Friday morning, that the former interior minister has no intention of resigning, following his ouster as co-chairman of the Shas party, Thursday evening. The associates explained, "Some of the Knesset members are on his side, as are activists in the field." They added "Yishai has always been out in the field and you can't take the field away from him."

The Sephardic hareidi party's council of Torah sages, led by former chief rabbi Ovadia Yoseph, decided to make Member of Knesset Aryeh Der'i the sole chairman of the party and to give the leadership of the party's Knesset faction to former co-chairman Ariel Attias.
