Yesh Atid: Change in Government Shouldn't be Rushed

Responding to MK David Rotem’s (Yisrael Beytenu) bill that would limit small parties and require a minimum of 61 MKs to submit a no-confidence motion, the Yesh Atid party said on Wednesday evening that while it welcomed a change in the system of government, such moves should not be rushed.

“Since its inception, Yesh Atid has emphasized the need for fundamental change in the Israeli government system, a change which will lead to stability and governability and it will do this in an appropriate procedure that will bring a fundamental change,” the party said.

"MK Dr. Ronen Hoffman has begun extensive work on the issue. Changing the government system is a serious issue which requires dialogue with all the Knesset factions, academics, lawyers and the public, and it should be not carried out hastily.”
