No Citizens of Enemy State Can Sue Israel

The Knesset plenum approved the preliminary reading of the MK Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) and MK David Rotem (Likud-Beyteinu) law proposal by which citizens of enemy countries will not be entitled to sue the state in Israeli courts for compensation over claims dating back to 1952, the year the original law on the subject was legislated.

55 MKs voted in favor of the proposal and 23 opposed it. The Knesset Committee for Law, Constitution and Justice will prepare the law for future Knesset readings.
