Shekel Up; Pound Outpaces Dollars; Euro, Yen Down

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .298 percent, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.623, down .028 percent, while the Euro declined .536 percent to 4.7337 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.5332, up .127 percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell .763 percent to 3.6793 shekels. The Canadian dollar rose .124 percent to 3.5398 shekels, while its Australian counterpart was fixed at NIS 3.7451, down .104 percent, and the South African rand edged up .051 percent to .3959 shekels.
