At least 40 people were killed as a 7.8-Magnitude earthquake rocked southeast Iran Tuesday. Official Iranian sources say its the worst quake in 40 years. The nuclear reactor in Bushehr was unaffected. Quake epicenter was 82 km underground, and most impact was experienced in villages nearby, constructed primarily of fragile mud.
Power and communications in nearby cities of Sitan and Baluchistan have yet to be restored.
