The flocks of tourists seeking something fun and educational for the Yom Haatzmaut holiday have forced the closure of four sites. The peak capacity of people has been reached for the following four locations:
The Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem, the Israeli Air Force Museum near Beersheva, the Atlit Detainee Camp and museum of the pre-state 'illegal" immigrants near Haifa, and the Bank of Israel museum and children's activity center in Jerusalem.
Many outdoor activities normally enjoyed on Independence Day are being avoided by the public due to the unexpected cold and damp weather. Officials are asking the pubic to avoid these four locations due to overcrowding and find alternative holiday excursions instead.
