Rabbi Motta Frank: 2 Minutes of Prayer and Communion

Hareidi Rabbi Motta Frank called on hareidi and religious Jews, Sunday, to use the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Day siren for two minutes of prayer and communion. Writing on Facebook, Rabbi Frank said this was once a year when millions of people have the opportunity not to say negative things but to make a deep and pure silent scream to the Creator to speed up our redemption and the salvation of the soul.

The rabbi said the siren does not violate a prohibition on imitating non Jews because it has the purpose of burning the memory of the fallen into the collective memory, to activate our awareness of the fallen and make their deaths a matter of merit which will protect us forever.
