Lapid and Netanyahu Discuss Budget for 3 Hours

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met with Finance Minister Yair Lapid for three hours, Thursday afternoon to discuss changes needed to balance the budget in light of a shortfall in revenues discovered before the recent Knesset elections. Lapid and the Treasury staff are working on a package of changes to present to the government at the start of May. Among the changes proposed are increases in taxes on luxury apartments and cars.

The treasurer is scheduled to hold further meetings with Netanyahu and Chairman Ofir Eini of the Histadrut Labor Federation next week.
