Deputy Ed. Minister: Make Gaza-Area Shelters Usable


Deputy Education Minister Avi Wortzman called on Homefront Security Minister Gilad Erdan, Friday, to act immediately to make hundreds of Gaza-area emergency shelters fit for use. He was responding to a report by the Israel Defense Forces' Homefront Command which said 778 of the shelters were unfit.

The former deputy mayor of Be'er Sheva' said,  "As someone who lives in the South and has unfortunately experienced many alarms, missile landings and sitting in a shelter, I know the importance of these shelters for residents of the south, some of whom have no protection other than those shelters." He explained that the lack of shelters is not just anxiety and helplessness, "but a real threat to life."
