The Legal Forum for the Land of Israel on Wednesday contacted the Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein regarding the Haaretz newspaper editorial regarding rock attacks.
The opinion article published Wednesday in the English edition stated, "throwing stones is the birthright and duty of anyone subject to foreign rule. Throwing stones is an action as well as a metaphor of resistance... It would make sense for Palestinian schools to give classes in resistance." The author, frequent Haaretz contributor, is a Jewish-Israeli.
Attorney Hila Cohen, counsel for the Legal Forum for the Land of Israel, said the article could constitute incitement to violence and terrorism. A recent rash of rock attacks have resulted in number of injuries including a three-year-old girl named Adele Bitton who is currently in severe condition following a rock attack. On Tuesday courts convicted a resident of the Palestinian Authority assigned regions of murdering Asher and Yonatan Palmer, an Israeli father and infant son, when they threw rocks at his car.
