Report: Senior Jordan Jurists Visited Israel Secretly

A delegation including five senior Jordanian jurists visited Israel in the last few days at the invitation of Israel's embassy in Amman, according to a Monday-morning report by Kol Yisrael government radio. The visit was kept secret because of the strenuous opposition of the Jordanian Bar Association to any sign of normalizing ties with Israel.

Members of the delegation met with officials of the Justice and Foreign Ministries, Supreme Court Justice Salim Jubran and members of the Bar Association. They toured Jerusalem's Old City, including a stop at the Western Wall of the Temple, and prayed in the Al-Aqsa mosque.
