The official value of the shekels rose an average of .241 percent, Friday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.666, down .272 percent, while the Euro declined .194 percent to 4.743 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.5745, down .12 percent, while 100 Japanese yen rose .69 percent to 3.8832 shekels. The Australian dollar slipped .13 percent to NIS 3.8291, while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at 3.5762 shekels, down .589 percent. The South African rand fell .708 percent to NIS .3927 and Sweden's krona was set at .5628 shekels, down .933 percent.
