Students from Ariel University will not remain silent in the face of their exclusion from United States President Barack Obama’s speech in Israel, Student Union head Shai Shachaf warned Sunday. “We are thinking about our next steps. We of course will not give up,” he said.
“It’s not about being a part of Obama’s speech so much as that students from an officially recognized Israeli university were discriminated against,” he added. However, Shachaf said, the Student Union is first waiting to see if the exclusion was perhaps an innocent mistake. “We still hope this was a mistake, that they missed us,” he explained.
