Piron Goal: Only Four High-School Matriculation Tests

Member of Knesset Shai Piron (Yesh Atid) who is expected to become the next Education Minister, said, Thursday, that he hoped that high school students will take matriculation examinations in only four subjects by the end of his term. Interviewed by Channel 2 Television, Rabbi Piron said teachers devote a lot of time to preparing their students for the tests at the expense of teacher-student relations and quality time.

Piron explained, "I do not want to give up grades, but it's a fact that we deal with how many people were murdered at Auschwitz and don't deal with what that means for us." He also said, "I want to be able to access student teacher to talk about his troubles."
