Peres: Tough Reality Ahead for New Government

President Shimon Peres said in an interview with Israel Today, published Tuesday morning, the first task of the new government in Israel will be to deal with the reality of the current situation in the country.

"First and foremost the new government is facing a budget submission, a solution to the problem of the budget deficit, which cannot be pushed off, the just distribution of social burdens and closing the economic gap, and of course the resumption of the peace process," Peres said.

The President stressed that "We can not live only in war without a peace process, and we can not only handle the peace process without dealing with security."
