New York Police Searching for Hit and Run Driver

Police in New York announced Monday that they are searching for the driver and passenger of a BMW who are wanted for vehicular homicide after crashing into a cab carrying a hareidi couple from Williamsburg and fleeing the scene.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said police are looking for 44-year-old Julio Acevedo, who had a DWI arrest in February and who was driving at least 60 mph when he crashed into the cab and killed the Jewish couple - a 21-year-old man and 21-year-old woman who was seven months pregnant - on their way to the hospital.

Nachman and Raizi Glauber of Brooklyn's Satmar community were instantly killed. Doctors delivered the couple's baby through a cesarean section, but the infant later died at Bellevue hospital.
