Most indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest losses to start the trading week on Sunday. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,085.46, down four tenths of a percent, while the TA 1000 declined .44 percent to 1,085.89, the same percentage drop meaning a final posting of 1,216.09 for the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 rose .39 percent to 468.36.
The same percentage increase meant a closing of 848.00 for the biomed index, while the rest of the technology issues fell .94 percent to 321.03. The oil and natural-gas stocks rose .67 percent to 1,157.70, while the real-estate index lost four tenths of a percent to 323.69, followed by the communications index, which stood at 505.48, down .51 percent. The bank issues declined .62 percent as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,109.48, down .76 percent, including a loss of .85 percent to 1,257.86 by the insurance stocks.
