Latest Rumor: Bibi Wants Bennett – Temporarily

Rumors continue to fly regarding Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s attempts to form a coalition. According to a report from Maariv, the Prime Minister wants the Bayit Yehudi (Jewish Home) party led by Naftali Bennett to join him – but only temporarily.

Netanyahu wants Bayit Yehudi in his coalition but is planning a second construction freeze, and expects the party to leave the government in protest when it begins, according to the report, which cited an idea from sources in the Prime Minister’s political circles. He reportedly would then look to the hareidi-religious parties Shas and Yahadut Hatorah (Gimmel) to take Bayit Yehudi’s place.
