The Belz chassidic group has called on followers to delay marriage until at least one year after high school. The group issued a call to parents over the weekend to avoid setting their children up on dates with the goal of finding a spouse until the middle of the second year of post high-school yeshiva.

The order reportedly follows complaints from parents of 18 and 19-year-old young men who said their sons were having difficulty focusing on their Torah studies due to the large number of engagements among their follow students.
