The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange closed the trading week, Thursday, with modest to moderate gains on most of the indices. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,089.78, up .57 percent, while the TA 100 rose .55 percent to 1,090.67, including a rise of .54 percent to 1,221.47 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 climbed a percent to 466.53.
Leading the gainers was the oil and natural-gas index, which advanced 1.65 percent to 1,150.01, followed by the financial institutions, which finished the day at 1,117.97, up 1.11 percent. The bank component rose .96 percent to 1,179.00, while the insurance issues stood at 1,268.65, up seven tenths of a percent. The real-estate stocks gained 1.01 percent to 325.00 and the biomed index stood at 844.73, up .97 percent, while the rest of the technology issues slipped .05 percent to 324.07, and the communications stocks closed at 508.05, down .21 percent.
