Committee Recommends Banning Electronic Cigarettes

Electronic cigarettes have been selling well in Israel recently, providing a smokeless experience for smokers. The products generate steam and involve inhalation of flavoring and aromatic substances unapproved by the Health Ministry. A special committee appointed by the ministry to explore the aspects of these new products has concluded that it recommends banning electronic cigarettes initially for five years pending proper medical testing.

The committee was also alarmed to discover a black market for such products popular with teenagers who purchase the E-cigarettes with psychoactive chemical content.
