“We are not at the start of a third Intifada,” Minister of Internal Security Yitzchak Aharonovich said Monday in wake of Arab riots in Judea and Samaria.
“Responsibility for the deterioration [in security] lies with the Palestinian Authority, of course,” Aharonovich told Army Radio (Galei Tzahal). “They needed to rein in the people, the activists and those who are throwing stones.”
Riots broke out over the weekend as the PA accused Israel of murdering a terrorist who died in an Israeli jail last week. An autopsy has not revealed a cause for the young man’s death.
