The official value of the shekel rose and average of .085 percent, Thursday against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.68, down .19 percent from Wednesday's, while the Euro plummeted 1.309 percent to 4.9076 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.7085, down .573 percent, and 100 Japanese yen rose .094 percent to 3.9418 shekels. The Canadian dollar advanced .024 percent to NIS 3.676, while its Australian counterpart slipped .058 percent to 3.8061 shekels. The South African Rand was fixed at .4136, down .385 percent.
