9 Sakhnin Fans, 6 Beitar Fans Arrested at Start of Game

Police arrested 15 fans for racist chants at the start of Sunday evening's soccer match at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem, between Beitar Jerusalem and Bani Sakhnin. Nine of those arrested were from the Arab city in the western Galilee while the other six were supporters of the home team.

Attention has been focused on Beitar because of the vocal opposition of some hardcore fans to the introduction of two Chechen Muslims to the team's roster. On Friday, the offices of the team were hit by an apparent arsonist.
