Rabbi Zalman Melamed, Rabbi of  Beit El tells INN that the IDF is not ready for the  burden of drafting all Yeshiva students, neither is the National Service Administration ready for all those volunteers.

“Anyone who wishes to be exempt from army service should be given the exemption, in exchange for extra taxes. The option of exemption from guard duty in Yesha towns in exchange for additional monthly fees is a peaceful model the government should adopt.”
