6 Years, $50 Million Later, New Synagogue in NYC Opens

Six years and $50 million later, the Jewish community in Manhattan's Upper West Side have a brand new synagogue in Lincoln Square. 

The Lincoln Square Synagogue opened to the public last Saturday and the 52,000 square foot complex is the largest new synagogue in New York City to be built in the last 50 years.

The synagogue was built next to the original Lincoln Square Synagogues which was erected in 1970.  

Rabbi Shaul Robinson is currently the senior rabbi at the Modern Orthodox institution.
