Beginning Tuesday: No Tie Between Cell Phone, Service

Beginning Tuesday, a new law will go into effect that cuts ties between the purchase of a cell phone and choice of a cell phone network. The law, put forth by MK Carmel Shama-Hacohen (Likud), aims to do away with the last barrier preventing customers from moving between cell phone companies in order to increase competition.
A second new law that will go into effect Tuesday will require companies to send customers an annual bill for ongoing services paid for automatically, in order to help customers notice any changes or excess charges.
