Sources in Tzipi Livni's Hatnua (Movement) party say they are afraid she is planning to leave the party after the elections. Livni reportedly said in private conversations that she does not intend to spend the next several years as an Opposition MK or a minister in a non-influential post, and would rather simply step down if her party is not large enough to be a significant force in Knesset.
The party is predicted to get 7-11 seats, according to recent polls.
Livni began her political life in Likud, then left for Kadima when then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon formed the party. She recently left Kadima for her own Hatnua party after losing the party primaries to MK Shaul Mofaz.
