Chairman Shaul Mofaz of the Kadima party said,  Thursday evening, "We might find ourselves on the verge of a third intifada. The fumes are in the air. We should be careful not to light the spark."

Speaking at a meeting of the Peace and Security Council, the former defense minister and chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces also discussed the situation in Syria and said, "Israel must prepare for the day after Bashar Al-Assad with all the implications involved, and take into account the rise of extremist forces led by Iran, which is involved up to its neck, arms the Assad regime and is fueling it with money."
