The Meretz party, largely considered the most left-wing of the Knesset's majority-Jewish factions, has decided that Israel and the Palestinian Authority should abandon the Oslo Accords. Party head MK Zahava Galon is planning to meet with PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Thursday to discuss her party's diplomatic platform.
One of the major points in the platform is a proposal to give up the Oslo Accords as outdated and irrelevant, and agree to new negotiations, to be concluded within five years.
"The parameters are known: the 1967 lines with 1:1 land swaps, splitting Jerusalem into two capitals, and solving the Palestinian refugee problem within the borders of a Palestinian state," Galon argued. "Now we need political will."
