Egged to Allow Kadima Campaign Ads on Buses

The Egged bus cooperative announced, Monday, that it has changed its mind and will allow the Kadima party to advertise its campaign for equal burden of national service on the sides of the company's buses. Egged had refused to carry the advertising because it singled out the hareidi-religious community and Kadima would not accept an Egged demand that the ads use the alternative reference of "those who do not serve".

Egged Spokesman Ron Ratner told the Yisrael Hayom daily, "At the request of Knesset Member Yochanan Plesner, Egged decided to reconsider the issue in the hope that passengers will be demonstrate understanding and tolerance for freedom of expression."
