Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis of the Finchley Synagogue in north London was selected, Monday evening, to be the next chief rabbi of the United Kingdom. The 55-year-old native of South Africa is scheduled to succeed Rabbi Jonathan Sacks when he steps down, next year.
