Oppenheimer: Our Comments Are Misrepresented

Peace Now Secretary-General Yariv Oppenheimer addressed on Monday the statements being made by leftists against the settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria and said, "No one from the left thinks that tomorrow morning we must disconnect the settlements from electricity and water, shut down the schools there and stop funding those who are living beyond the Green Line. Presenting our comments in this way is misleading."
He added, "On the other hand, many people in the center and the left strongly oppose the excessive budgeting given to the settlements, most of which are classified as high priority areas. Many do not agree with the idea that regional councils in Judea and Samaria receive grants and budgets from almost every government office. Even more people oppose the continued construction and expansion of settlements, including those in the areas east of the separation fence."
