120 Hours Public Service for Burning the Flag

The Jerusalem Magistrates Court sentenced Yechiel Chazan of Jerusalem, Monday, to ten hours of community service a month for the next year, on a conviction, reached by plea bargain, on a charge of disorderly conduct and disrespecting the state flag. The conviction stems from the burning of the Israeli flag on the eve of Remembrance Day for Israel's soldiers, pre-state militia members and terror victims, two and a half years ago, at Kikar Shabbat in the hareidi-religious Meah She'arim neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Chazan's community service will consist of guarding hospital patients at night for the Ezer Mitzion organization.
