United States Ambassador to Israel, Daniel Shapiro, thanked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, President Shim'on Peres and many Israeli citizens for the "deep condolences on the tragedy in Connecticut." Ambassador Shapiro wrote in Hebrew on his Facebook page, "At a time of disaster, it helps to know that friends mourn together with us."
