Peretz: Israel Should Review Personal Security

Hatenu'ah Knesset candidate Amir Peretz reacted, Sunday, to the weekend's shootings in the United States by saying, "This weekend, we witnessed extreme manifestations of violence in the United States; crazy acts which ended up in the slaughter of little and helpless children."

He added that Israel "must examine actions and dealing with everything involved in the personal security of our civilians, and in the coming days a comprehensive program will be submitted by retired police commander David Tzur for dealing with public safety and personal security. We must remember the words of [assassinated prime minister Yitzchak] Rabin, of blessed memory, "Violence undermines the foundations of democracy."
