Israeli Scientist Gets Prestigious Physics Prize

Israeli scientist Zohar Komargodski has been named as one of three laureates of the 2013 New Horizons in Physics prize. Each of the laureates will receive $100,000.

Komargodski was rewarded for his work on the dynamics of four-dimensional field theories. “His proof (with Schwimmer) of the “a-theorem” has solved a long-standing problem, leading to deep new insights,” the awards committee stated.

The prize is from the Fundamental Physics Prize Foundation, which also gives out the Physics Frontiers Prize and the Fundamental Physics Prize.
