Egypt: 5 Killed in Clashes in Cairo

At least five people were killed in overnight clashes in Cairo between supporters of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi and his opponents, the state news agency MENA reported.

The report said that the number of people injured in the clashes rose to 350 overnight. The clashes between Morsi’s supporters and opponents began early on Wednesday evening, when thousands of supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood came to the presidential palace, where several hundred anti-Morsi demonstrators have barricaded themselves in recent days.
