Council regions, with voting populations of about 30,000, are scheduled to hold elections, Tuesday, for the councils and the council leaders. Among the 27 council regions where balloting will take place are Ashkelon, Eshkol, Galil Elyon (Upper Galilee), Mateh Asher, Merchavim, Ramat Hanegev, Sedot Negev, Shomron (Samaria) and Yoav.

Polls are scheduled to open at 8:00 a.m. in localities with populations of more than 350. In smaller communities, voting will start at 3:00 p.m. All precincts are scheduled to close at 9:00 p.m.
