Israeli government Secretary General, Tzvi Hauser, said this morning to Israel Radio that the PA move to achieve non-member observer-nation status at the UN General Assembly, slated for today, will make peace move even farther away than it is now.
Hauser stressed that the PA must realize that peace in the Middle East can be achieved only through direct negotiations and not by unilateral measures.
Hauser pointed out that the PA's move is a significant abrogation of international agreements it has made with Israel.
He called the move a negative game changer. "This is breaking the rules of the game and will allow Israel to react in any way it deems necessary in order to protect its interests."
