An evening dedicated to the memory of Hevron Brigade Commander Dror Weinberg was held, Sunday in Kfar Sava, to mark 10 years since he fell in a battle with terrorists on the "Worshippers' Path" between Kiryat Arba' and Hevron. Deputy Prime Minister Moshe Ya'alon, who served with Weinberg in the General Headquarters Commando Unit, told those in attendance that Weinberg was one of the best paratroop commanders, and among the best in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The former chief of staff said Weinberg was modest and shy but opinionated and firm in his opinions. Ya'alon added, "He was a tough commander but responsive and sensitive, demanding and human, uncompromising, a warrior body and soul." He also said, "Dror left a deep imprint on his subordinates, colleagues and superiors and on the IDF's operational concepts."
