Poll: 59% Against Cease Fire; 34% Hamas Won

A majority of Israelis oppose the cease fire in the Gaza area, according to a survey for Channel 10 Television, broadcast about 24 hours after the cease fire went into effect. The poll, by the Midgam (Sample) Project, supervised by Professor Camille Fuchs, showed 59 percent of the public opposed the cease fire, while only 33 percent said they supported it.

Participants were asked about the positions of the sides after the eight days of  the Pillar of Defense counter-terror campaign. Thirty-four percent felt Hamas won, while 28 percent felt that Israel won and 26 percent felt the two sides achieved equality.
