Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon of the United Nations is expected to arrive in Israel, Tuesday, for a series of meetings with senior officials in an attempt to bring about a cease fire between the Jewish state and terrorists in Hamas-controlled Gaza.

Ban will first visit President Shim'on Peres and the two are also expected to discuss the Iranian nuclear threat. After that, he is scheduled to go to Ramallah to meet with Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority.
