The Cental Committee of the Tekumah faction of the Ichud Le'umi (National Union) party elected Member of Knesset Uri Ariel, Sunday evening, to be the head of the party, replacing Knesset member Ya'akov Katz.

The committee proceeded to start selecting its list of candidates for January's Knesset election. Results are expected around 11:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
