New Syrian Mortar Shell Hits Golan Position

An explosion was heard, Monday afternoon, next to an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) outpost on Tel Chazaka in the Golan Heights. No injuries or damage were reported

The IDF believes it was the latest in a series of Syrian mortar shells to explode in Israel as part of the fighting between Syrian rebels and troops loyal to President Bashar Al-Assad. After a similar explosion on Sunday, Israel fired a warning shot with an anti-tank missile in the direction of the Syrian army position from where it was believed that the mortar shell was launched.
