A court in Eilat extended on Friday the remand of two members of the Eilat city council, who were arrested on Thursday on suspicion of extortion and accepting bribes from businesses in the city. The two will remain in police custody until next Thursday.
Three additional suspects have been arrested and interrogated in the case, and were released under restrictive conditions.
