Gaza Evictees Buy Caravillas at Own Expense

A competitive bid will soon go out to start infrastructure work on a new neighborhood at Kibbutz Neve Yam for Jews who were evicted by the government from Gaza in 2005.

Avi Farhan, one of the founders of the neighborhood, told Arutz Sheva on Thursday, that the 17 families which will live there were forced to pay 350,000 shekels of their own money to buy caravilla portable buildings that will serve as their homes for at least three or four years, until permanent dwellings are ready. He said he hopes some day the government will compensate them.
